Stainless steel oroshigane grater spoon 6 1/2 overall with 3 1/2x1 1/2 bowl that is 1/2 deep with 8 double rows of sharp teeth. The small pointed teeth cut on the push and pull stroke to make short work of small grating tasks. Ginger, garlic, turmeric etc are quickly turned to a pulpy paste which the concave spoon holds on to. Made in Japan.

Oroshigane Spoon Grater - Stainless Steel

Japanese graters are a practical alternative to the popular microplane graters. These beautiful graters have more surface area than microplanes and are not perforated like typical graters as they are not meant to be used in the air. Japanese graters are designed with a triangular flat solid bottom to rest on the cutting board during use. Due to how nothing escapes the grater, ingredients are shredded much finer than typical graters and flavors stay concentrated.
