The first modern cheese slicer was patented on February 27, 1925 by Thor Bjørklund (October 30, 1889 – December 8, 1975), a Norwegian inventor and businessman.
This is a classic Mid 20th Century Scandinavian stainless steel (18/8) cheese slicer with a teak wood handle made by Selandia (of Denmark) in Norway in the 1960s.
It measures 8 1/2 in length and 3 wide and its stem handle is approximately 3/8 at its thickest.
